Fire Extinguisher Maintenance
All fire extinguishers should be serviced annually by a competent person in accordance with BS 5306.
All PLM engineers are FETA (Fire Extinguisher Trades Association) qualified. They can also advise you on the positioning, type and use of your extinguishers, ensuring you are covered in the case of a fire.
We charge a flat rate of £10 per extinguisher for an annual service and either a free, £10, or £20 site visit depending on your location. We don't charge any hourly rates. This price includes replacement of all seals.
Unfortunately we can only offer this service locally unless there are a large number of fire extinguishers. Please contact us us for a quote for larger numbers and we will be pleased to put together a proposal for you.
Fire Extinguisher recycling scheme.
At some point all fire extinguishers will reach the end of their serviceable life and will need to be taken out of service. Many of them end up in land fill sites or on dumps. However, PLM are now pleased to offer an extinguisher recycling service from just £5 per fire extinguisher (excluding halon, depending on location). For this, the fire extinguisher will be collected from your premises, and will be taken to be cut down and recycled into a car, or a plane, or a spaceship, or perhaps, just perhaps, just another extinguisher.
