Fire risk assessment (competent person) - Course ref: FS7

This comprehensive course takes full account of the changes in fire safety legislation taking effect in October 2006. The course includes practical workbooks and pre-prepared questions so that delegates will be able to carry out fire risk assessments directly after the course.

Course objectives: At the end of the course students will be able to carry out a fire risk assessment under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order on traditionally designed buildings, document the assessment, prioritise the identified shortcomings and produce recommendations to satisfactorily reduce the risk from fire and explosion.

Course duration: Two days.

Course content: Day One

Evening Work (approximately 1 hour in own time): Plan drawings, assessing and correcting the provision of fire fighting equipment, means of escape and travel distances in various premises.

Day Two Fire Safety Doc

Who should attend: Managers and those responsible for fire risk assessments.

Competency testing: Multiple choice test and practical assignment.
